push notifications not working…fixed

For some reason, the feature to be alerted for new weather isn’t working. It tested properly on my own iPhone & iPad however something has gone wrong when submitted to Apple.

I’ve contacted them to see why it isn’t working, and as soon as I find out I’ll fix it & submit an update (1.8.1).

In the mean time – you will NOT get any messages when the weather is updated.

UPDATE – I worked out the problem (it was Apple!). Update should be out shortly (version 1.8.1).

Hi Rowan,

Just a thought for a possible future enhancement: what about a database of pilots names and mobile phones, similar to the database of routes and aircraft. It gets a bit tedious to have to enter this info in full, for multitple sectors in particular.

Gday great app but still no push notification even after 1.8.1 … have I not set it up correctly ? everything else seems to work ok ? thanks

- Hi Paul – sorry for the late reply. It should all be working properly with v1.8.1 – I just updated the code today so it sends a more useful message such as “New Weather: TTF METAR YPDN” and doesn’t alert you when there is an updated METAR (otherwise it just keeps beeping and you get sick of it).
